Intercontinen7al Celebrate Global Unity on Love is Everywhere

Some bands are born in garages, others in studios, but Intercontinen7al were born out of necessity, imagination, and an unprecedented moment in history. When the world shut down in March 2020, the members of a local Columbia, Maryland band called Toast were suddenly cut off from rehearsals, stages, and each other. Instead of letting distance dissolve their creative momentum, guitarist Matt Smith stumbled upon BandLab and unknowingly opened the door to one of the most ambitious collaborative music projects of the decade. That spark has since grown into Intercontinen7al, a boundary breaking collective that quite literally spans the globe.

From the beginning, the idea was simple but radical. Share ideas openly and invite the world in. What started as internal demos quickly became public invitations, allowing musicians from anywhere to contribute. Within days, a grunge instrumental gained Spanish vocals from Argentina. Soon after, a blues idea transformed into a blues rock track featuring guitar recorded in Australia. Geography became irrelevant, and curiosity became the driving force. The pandemic did not shrink their world. It expanded it.

The defining moment came when Smith imagined taking the Foo Fighters Sonic Highways concept and pushing it even further. Instead of recording in different cities, why not collaborate with musicians from every continent. The name Intercontinen7al captured that vision, with the number seven nodding both to the continents and to the sense of mystique that inspired it. What followed was an extraordinary effort to make that concept real, including contacting research stations in Antarctica in search of musicians. Against all odds, two were found. When Manor Hill was completed, featuring contributions from all seven continents, Intercontinen7al became something entirely unique in modern music.

Over the years, the project continued to grow. Musicians from the United Kingdom, Egypt, France, Germany, and beyond joined the expanding roster. Six albums followed, each one featuring at least one track recorded across all seven continents. Their sound refused to settle into a single lane, instead embracing alternative rock, folk, blues, jazz, metal, funk, gospel, reggae, classical, and more. Intercontinen7al became a true melting pot, reflecting not only different musical styles but different cultures, perspectives, and lived experiences. Even more remarkably, all proceeds from their streams have been directed toward humanitarian causes and nonprofit charities, grounding the project in purpose as much as creativity.

Love is Everywhere, released on November 24, 2025, stands as one of the most heartfelt chapters in this global story. Taken from their seventh and final volume, the song leans into a warm, melodic sensibility inspired by late era Beatles songwriting. It is a gentle reminder of connection in a catalogue often defined by experimentation and scale. Where other tracks might showcase technical ambition or genre blending, Love is Everywhere focuses on something universal. It feels intimate despite its massive collaborative backstory, as if countless voices across continents are quietly agreeing on a single sentiment.

The song’s placement within Volume 7 feels deliberate. This final album embraces the full spectrum of what Intercontinen7al have built over five intense years. From the hard rock drive of Empty Halls to the jazz infused exploration of Lotus, the record plays like a final tour through the collective’s creative universe. Love is Everywhere acts as an emotional anchor, offering calm and clarity amid the diversity. It suggests that after all the experiments, locations, and stylistic detours, the core message remains simple and human.

As the project approaches its conclusion in 2026, there is a sense of reflection woven into their latest releases. Intercontinen7al were never meant to last forever. They were born out of a specific moment and fueled by a specific mission. With members eager to pursue new creative paths, the decision to end the project feels less like a farewell and more like a natural evolution. Their final album even revisits earlier material, reimagining Puerto Aisén with an unexpected blend of hip hop beats, Latin textures, and Middle Eastern influences, once again proving their refusal to stand still.

Love is Everywhere encapsulates what made Intercontinen7al special from the very start. It is not just about collaboration for novelty’s sake. It is about trust, openness, and the belief that creativity thrives when walls come down. In a time defined by isolation, this project chose connection. In a world often divided by borders, it chose unity. The song feels like a quiet victory lap, not celebratory in a loud way, but confident in the knowledge that something meaningful was built.

Intercontinen7al may be reaching its final chapter, but the impact of Love is Everywhere lingers as a reminder of what music can achieve when it refuses to be limited by geography, genre, or circumstance. It is proof that collaboration can be radical, generosity can be musical, and love, quite genuinely, can be everywhere.
