Bright Eyes Cancels 2024 Tour Due to Conor Oberst’s Vocal Condition

Bright Eyes has announced the cancellation of their 2024 tour following recent withdrawals from Riot Fest and other performances. The band shared that frontman Conor Oberst is experiencing a vocal condition that worsens with excessive singing, necessitating treatment and rest. As a result, the band has decided to step back for the remainder of the year, with plans to return to touring in 2025.

Bright Eyes had performed warm-up shows earlier this month in Chicago, Cleveland, and Philadelphia in anticipation of their upcoming album, Five Dice, All Threes. They were scheduled to continue their tour in October, beginning in Oakland, with appearances in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Europe, including the inaugural Best Friends Forever Festival in Las Vegas.

In a heartfelt statement, the band expressed their disappointment:

“We regret to announce that we will have to cancel our shows for the rest of the year. We love our fans and are incredibly disappointed that we won’t be able to play these shows.” Fans who purchased tickets for headlining shows will receive refunds at their point of purchase.

The band remains optimistic about Oberst’s recovery: “After undergoing multiple tests, it’s been determined that Conor has developed a condition that requires treatment and recuperation. We are confident that with proper medical care, we will return to the road next year.”

Bright Eyes thanked their fans for their continued support and understanding during this time, promising updates on future plans.
