Shelia Moore-Piper: It’s important to set the tone for the record. You have to make sure to make a strong statement starting off, making sure to grab the listeners’ attention quickly.

The single features an intricate sonic universe created by your husband and producer, Glenn “GP” Piper. What does the creative shorthand look like between you two when blending smooth melodic horns, crunchy grooves, and hip-hop elements?

Shelia Moore-Piper: My hubby collaborates on whatever song we do and create; we tend to make sure that it’s not overpowering, but everything goes together like a gumbo and or soup. You wouldn’t add every ingredient in at the same time. You attack a song little by little until it comes together to make a melodic masterpiece.

Your music seamlessly bridges uplifting faith with romantic emotion. How do you strike the perfect balance so that “Show Love” feels both deeply spiritual and universally accessible as a classic R&B/Soul serenade?

Shelia Moore-Piper: It sounds amazing! Everything has to be in sync, and we make sure all elements flow together.

You mention that everything in your life is grounded in and runs on faith. How did that core belief shape the bright affirmation-filled introduction that sets the tone for the rest of the track?

Shelia Moore-Piper: It’s important to make sure whatever you are singing about makes the listeners believe it. It first starts with you. If you don’t believe it, how are they supposed to believe it? How to start the track is how you should finish it. I am not perfect, but I strive to live a faith-based life every day and hopefully it is shown through my music.

With “Show Love” serving as the lead single for The Love/Soul Session Vol 2, how does this track set the emotional and thematic stage for what listeners will experience on the rest of the upcoming album?

Shelia Moore-Piper: Oh! It makes a powerful statement. However, you’ll have to stay tuned for the upcoming Vol. 2. (smiles). We are working to make sure that every song chosen is the best fit for this project.

The track relies on a beautiful blend of live instrumentation, from the bass and drums to smooth horns and paradigms. How important was it for you to keep the musicianship purely authentic in an era dominated by digital production?

Shelia Moore-Piper: I grew up loving live instruments, particularly horns. Horns are the meat to the song. Every song doesn’t need them but, if it does need them, got to make them pop. We do what is needed for the song and whatever is not needed; we don’t do it.

You’ve been described as a “Christian Soul Vocalist.” How do you feel your music redefines or expands the boundaries of traditional gospel and contemporary Christian music for today’s urban jazz and soul fans?

Shelia Moore-Piper: I am who I am! I only do the music the God gives me. I don’t make music based on any category. I release music based on what is needed at the moment in our world and cultures. However, if it tends to expend boundaries, that’s great!

The lyrics remind us that “good things are on the way.” Was there a specific moment or breakthrough in your own life recently that inspired this specific message of anticipation and hope?

Shelia Moore-Piper: Yes; it’s an everyday thing! We should learn to practice it in our lives every day! The song “Show Love” was written years ago. Like I mentioned earlier; we release certain songs when it’s needed and within our world and culture today; it’s needed!

Pure, a classic soul is becoming increasingly scarce in the modern music industry. What do you think is the secret to keeping the traditional warmth of R&B alive while still making it feel fresh and relevant for 2026?

Shelia Moore-Piper: Making sure the music has a substance! What does the song say to us and how can we use it to do better within ourselves and others! It should make a statement! This is very important in this day and time! People have real problems so how can we be a solution through music. It’s an important task that needs to be done to make music relevant!

When the final notes of the track fade out, what is the ultimate action or feeling you hope lingers in the hearts of your listeners as they go out into the world to “show love”?

Shelia Moore-Piper: That they remember that Jesus Is Love! So, make sure you love the LORD first, then yourself and then others God’s way. It is easier said than done but, if you get in and stay connected; it can be done! Love covers a multitude of sins and Love triumphs all things so get Love in you if it’s not and start showing it little by little! #letsgo #showlove!
