Gracie Abrams Backs Harris During Break from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour
At a rally supporting Kamala Harris in Wisconsin, artists like The National, Remi Wolf, Gracie Abrams, and Mumford & Sons took the stage to perform and endorse the Democratic candidate. Representing The National, Matt Berninger and Aaron Dessner delivered an acoustic set featuring “Bloodbuzz Ohio,” “I Need My Girl”—a song Berninger mentioned was written for their daughters but dedicated to Harris for the night—and “Fake Empire,” a song that recalls the Obama era. Berninger wrapped up with a message urging people to “get out there and vote.”
Remi Wolf opened the event, performing “Cinderella” and sharing a few words about Harris’s dedication to personal rights and climate action, pointing out they both hail from the Bay Area and share a love for fun and laughter.
Taking a break from opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, Gracie Abrams performed with her band and delivered a heartfelt speech directed at young voters. Abrams spoke of the challenges this generation faces, from social media to COVID and disinformation, and encouraged the crowd to vote to keep democracy alive for future generations.
Closing out the night, Mumford & Sons performed a selection of songs, including “Little Lion Man,” “Awake My Soul,” and “I Will Wait,” helping to energize the crowd for the upcoming election.
