Elise Unveils Heartfelt New Single “Remember” – A Poignant Reflection on Hindsight and Healing

Elise, the rising indie-folk artist from Kilkenny, Ireland, continues to carve her place in the music world with her latest single Remember, released on February 22, 2025. Known for her emotive songwriting and hauntingly beautiful vocals, Elise delivers a deeply introspective track that encapsulates the bittersweet weight of hindsight. Following a string of successful releases, including I Don’t Mind and her acclaimed debut EP These Thoughts, Elise is building toward her upcoming five-track EP I’ve Been Here, set to drop on April 11.

Remember captures the universal experience of looking back at past events with a clearer lens, questioning whether things could have been handled differently. The song’s narrative centers around a struggling friend in need of help—someone who doesn’t quite know how to ask for it, while the person offering support is left uncertain whether their actions are helping or making things worse. It’s a deeply human story wrapped in lush, melancholic melodies that stay with you long after the song ends.

The track was recorded at Cross Roads Studio and produced and mastered by Dave Holland at Polar Planet Studios under the moniker Wicked Little Atoms. The production retains an intimate, organic feel, staying true to Elise’s signature indie-folk style, where raw emotion is given space to breathe. Her ability to craft deeply personal yet relatable music is a testament to why she has continued to resonate with audiences both in Ireland and beyond.

Since debuting in 2019 with These Thoughts, Elise has been steadily gaining momentum in the alternative folk scene. Tracks from her EP landed her national radio play on RTE Radio 1, KCLR, and Beat 102 103, while her live performances sold out venues like The Set Theatre in Kilkenny, Crane Lane in Cork, and Bello Bar in Dublin. In early 2020, she was chosen to headline Whelan’s Ones to Watch before the pandemic disrupted live music. However, rather than slow down, she pivoted her focus to the digital world.

Her 2020 single Cowboy earned a coveted spot on Spotify’s Fresh Folk playlist, bringing in over 30,000 new listeners in just one week. The following year, Ragdoll premiered via Hot Press Magazine alongside a striking visual counterpart. As live music made a triumphant return in 2022, Elise took the stage at Vantastival Festival, the Marble City Sounds festival series, and a sold-out solo show in Cleere’s Theatre. She has also supported some of Ireland and the UK’s most respected artists, including James Vincent McMorrow, Ailbhe Reddy, Arborist, and Rozi Plain.

Elise’s music has even made its way to the silver screen—her track Rattling Brain was featured in The Hurler: A Champion’s Tale, a film by Tony Kelly that premiered in 2023. With each release, she refines her sound, deepening her connection with listeners while pushing herself artistically.

As Elise gears up for the release of I’ve Been Here, Remember serves as a powerful preview of what’s to come. The song taps into the complexity of human relationships, exploring the moments where we try to do the right thing but are left wondering if we could have done more. There’s a sincerity in her delivery that makes it impossible not to feel the weight of those emotions along with her.

With a launch night set for April 19 at Cleere’s Theatre in Kilkenny, Elise is ready to bring her music to audiences in a way that only live performances can. Her ability to blend storytelling with raw, heartfelt melodies has already solidified her as a force to be reckoned with in the indie-folk scene. Remember is just another step forward on what promises to be an incredible journey.
