Fritz Kahn & The Miracles Introduce a World of Logic and Magic with Debut EP Attila, The Crow

Fritz Kahn & The Miracles, the brainchild of Portuguese songwriter Gonçalo Serras, have officially made their UK debut with the release of their stunning four-track EP, Attila, The Crow. Named after the influential Jewish-German physician Fritz Kahn, whose intricate illustrations likened the human body to a machine, this musical project merges the realms of logic and enchantment, presenting a truly unique listening experience.

The EP opens with its lead single, “Milky Way,” a heartfelt piano ballad reminiscent of holiday warmth and introspection. Accompanied by Rúben Alves’ delicate piano arrangement and Miguel Amado’s soulful bass, the track evokes a sense of wonder and unity. With lyrics contrasting the cosmic grandeur of the night sky against the complexity of modern life, Serras issues a plea for acceptance and human connection. “Milky Way” feels timeless—poised to become a seasonal favorite.

Reflecting on the song, Serras shares, “I feel welcomed under the open sky, in the warm glow of celestial bodies. They comfort and accept me with a simplicity that Earth cannot. Isn’t it time to stop comparing ourselves and look upward instead? While I never give up on humanity, the stars remind me of our potential and constancy.”

The other tracks in the EP add depth to the introspective journey. “My Hometown Bells” is a nostalgic ode to the places that shape us, while “Old Blue” drifts into poignant storytelling, weaving vivid emotions into its melody. Closing the record, “Fire and Gold” radiates optimism, showcasing Serras’ lyrical prowess and ability to find beauty in fleeting moments.

The metaphor of a crow—cleverly stealing shiny objects—is central to the EP’s theme. Serras compares his songwriting process to this, “borrowing” emotions and memories to craft songs that resonate universally. “I’ve stolen moments of happiness, from a smile to a glance, and left these songs in return. I hope they bring joy, like the moments that inspired them.”

Having performed at prestigious venues like Casa da Música and festivals such as Super Bock Super Rock, Serras has collaborated with luminaries of Portuguese music. His thoughtful lyrics and genre-blending compositions mark Attila, The Crow as a bold introduction to his vision.

With its seamless fusion of logic and magic, Attila, The Crow establishes Fritz Kahn & The Miracles as a force to be reckoned with. Watch the “Milky Way” video, immerse yourself in the EP, and experience a celestial journey crafted to inspire connection and wonder.

This release invites listeners to pause, reflect, and look beyond—whether to the stars or within.
