There’s something magnetic about a project that sounds like it was meant to happen all along. NUMBERS, the debut EP from Afro House duo NOCOLOUR, is exactly that—four tracks born from the synergy of two seasoned artists blending decades of rhythm, genre, and soul into something undeniably fresh. Released on May 2, 2025, the EP doesn’t just introduce a new act—it announces a sound that’s been simmering under the surface, finally coming to light in full force.

NOCOLOUR is the brainchild of German producer Marcus Voss and Cuban-born DJ Will Hernandez. Though their musical paths were shaped oceans apart—Marcus through the pounding precision of Techno, Tech House, and Drum & Bass, and Will through the sway and swing of salsa, Latin percussion, and organic house—their friendship and shared musical obsession go back more than ten years. The birth of NOCOLOUR isn’t a trend-jumping exercise; it’s the inevitable result of two artists who’ve spent years tuning into each other’s frequencies, waiting for the right moment to lock in and create something together.
That moment arrived in Marcus’s home studio, where the idea of recording “a couple of tracks” quickly evolved into something bigger. One session became two, then three. And by the time “Number Four” rolled out of their speakers, they knew they had an EP on their hands. NUMBERS is both a spontaneous outpouring and a carefully layered collection—four tracks, each with its own voice, pulse, and personality, but all unmistakably stitched together by the NOCOLOUR sound.
“Number One” opens the project with a confident stride—deep percussive foundations, nuanced groove, and subtle melodic flourishes that nod to both the Berlin underground and Havana’s streets. There’s restraint here, but it’s purposeful. The track builds slowly, drawing you in like a slow sunrise on a dance floor that never sleeps.
“Number Two” sharpens the edges. It’s got a touch more bite—syncopated synths weaving through crisp drum patterns, anchored by an earthy bassline that refuses to sit still. Will’s Latin influence bubbles just under the surface, giving the track its swing without overpowering the steady Afro House momentum.
“Number Three” plays like a night drive through a foreign city—moody, spacious, and full of subtle surprises. Atmospheric pads, reverb-laced samples, and ambient textures create a hypnotic flow. It’s the kind of track that DJs reach for in the early hours, when the crowd is deep in the moment and open to being taken somewhere else entirely.
Then there’s “Number Four,” the unofficial anthem of the EP. With two early spins on BBC Radio Solent even before NUMBERS officially dropped, this track is already gathering steam. It’s a masterclass in balance—lush vocal textures, tribal-inflected percussion, and deep melodic hooks that stick without screaming. It’s easy to see why Marcus and Will knew they had something special here. It’s the kind of track that lives equally well on festival stages and in underground clubs, connecting heads and hearts through rhythm.
What’s most compelling about NUMBERS isn’t just the sound—it’s the sense of discovery that runs through every beat. NOCOLOUR isn’t trying to fit into a scene. They’re exploring one. Their influences—Keinemusik, &ME, Black Coffee, Solomun—are clear, but the result is more homage than imitation. The production is clean but soulful, minimal but not cold. It’s Afro House with personality, purpose, and playfulness.
With more tracks already in progress, NOCOLOUR is gearing up to evolve this sound in real time. Live performances aren’t on the calendar just yet, but that’s not stopping the duo from building momentum. They’re taking their time, letting the music lead—and inviting anyone who’s listening to come along for the ride.
“This music is for the people,” says Marcus. “We’re just here to share what we love making. If it moves you, then we’ve done our job.”
In a dance world increasingly dominated by high polish and fleeting hype, NOCOLOUR’s NUMBERS is a refreshing reminder of what happens when collaboration is rooted in friendship, freedom, and fearless creativity. It’s Afro House that pulses with personality, born of instinct, culture, and shared vision. No gimmicks. No genre limits. Just good music, made with soul.
And if this debut is any indication, NOCOLOUR is just getting started.
